LifeWhataJoy was born out of a personal need…wanting to do a better job in seeing God’s hand in everything I do and to recognize what He is trying to teach me.
I consider it a privilege that you have taken the time to read my ramblings and pray you find these words to be a blessing.
You probably are wanting to know who I am…I’m just a normal everyday person. I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, Artist, retired Registered Nurse, Christian Speaker and Author, Bible Study leader, storyteller, busy, lazy, overachiever, underachiever, procrastinator, action driven…a little all over the place as you can see.
As a Bible Study leader I have taught both youth and adults – including a Single Mom’s class and have even presented the occasional sermon. It was while teaching the three and four year olds I recognized my gift for storytelling both in writing and teaching.
I married my high school sweetheart. We have 2 incredible grown sons…both are married to amazing women. Together they have blessed us with 5 remarkable grandchildren!
Before I became a “Retired” Registered Nurse I worked in a variety of areas… from the Operating Room to Administrative positions. Up until recently I was a healthcare consultant, resulting in the occasional travel to being a road warrior – depending on the month. Now I am retired!
Recently I became a speaker for Stonecroft Women’s Ministry.
My husband is a retired boat captain and commercial fisherman. He is my best friend and is the only person that really understands and gets me. (Well, honestly my BFF from the age of 4 also gets me.)
My church family is important to me…I have some amazing friends from my Sunday Small Group.
In the past I authored a Mother’s Devotional “A Mother’s Heart Prays” and a devotional for teens and young adults “Life What a Joy“. I’ve worked as a free-lance correspondent for the local newspaper, authored several articles for both national and local healthcare publications, spoken for a variety of Christian women’s groups and at several national healthcare seminars, and served on the Editorial Board for the Aspen publication, Healthcare Registration.
Since retirement from Nursing and Healthcare Consulting I have started painting. Please feel free to look at some of my rustic art at Simply Rustic Art.
I am so glad you have landed on my blog and look forward to your comments.
