Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

Last year I had the wonderful blessing to be approved as a Stonecroft Woman’s Ministry Speaker. What a grand opportunity!

During a luncheon or dinner I have the opportunity to share how knowing Jesus has changed my life to anywhere from 40 to 200 plus ladies across the state of Florida and soon in Alabama and Louisiana.

Exhilarated! I am exhilarated knowing that God is using me to share His Gospel.

Lord, use me!!

I’ve been a part-time Christian speaker since the 90s; focused on teaching believers. The mission of Stonecroft is to share the gospel with nonbelievers. There is a big difference in how the message is presented. Stonecroft wants to make sure the speaker refrains from “churchy” words such as Reconciliation, Justification, etc. so that the message is clear and simple.

There have been times that I have asked how in the world would God choose me to do this!??

I know that I frequently fall short. Like many I’m filled with procrastination, laziness, good intentions that do not come to fruition, at times a judgmental spirit, at other times listening to or even participating in gossip, and those are just some of the things I am willing to post across the Internet!!

So again I ask, “How and why would God use me for His glory?”

Then I am reminded of the numerous men and women of the Bible that asked the same thing. They were not perfect, they had flaws, yet God used them!

For example Esther was reluctant to approach the King. She was fearful that the King may punish her for entering his throne room uninvited, but the lives of the Jews depended on the King’s intervention. Initially she refused.

Imagine what she thought when she read her uncle’s words, “…And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Through prayers and fasting of many of her fellow Jews she was able to gain the strength to step before the King with a wise plan.

Is God calling you to step out of your comfort zone?

Back in the mid 90s I felt God was calling me to speak for Stonecroft Ministries, but I had every excuse in the book… 3 more times over the past 15 years I thought I heard His still small voice again and again urging me to be a part of this wonderful ministry.

Don’t get me wrong, it was not that I was fearful of speaking or sharing my story. It was the fact that Stonecroft has strict rules on story content and for years I was not sure if I wanted to be inside that “box”. What I saw as a “box” was actually a well thought out plan.

Their guidelines are thoughtful with the nonbeliever in mind. Once I embraced their way of sharing my walk with Christ I have been overjoyed time after time in seeing women come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Has God asked you to step out of your comfort zone for His Glory? Embrace it because who know but that you have come to this point in your life for just a time like this?!

Blessings, Susan
