What makes YOU SMILE?

Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened. ~ Dr. Seuss

Memories.

I love to look at old photos. As I look at them I am transported right back to that moment.

Pictures of my kids when they were young, my parents when they were alive, when Wade and I were dating, and the many activities we have done over the years bring such fond memories to my mind.

I have uploaded all of my cellphone photos to 2 cloud services and 2 jump drives…but can I part with them and remove them from my phone? NO!!

Why?

I just love to look at them. For just a moment my parents are still alive or Wade and I are on vacation or it’s Christmas again with the kids and grandkids…and they make me smile.

Just imagine if cameras were around during Biblical times! A photo of the parting of the Red Sea, the Ark being filled with animals 2 by 2, or Christ preaching…

Of course there are no actual photos of these events…but that’s the beauty of it. We can picture the wonder of God’s magnificent story in our minds and we can smile.

The memory of the just is blessed…
Proverbs 10:7a

But what if you have never read the Bible and you’re not familiar with these events? Then you are missing out on The Greatest Story ever told.

Start today…read The Bible. Let it imprint God’s plan for you in your heart…it will make you smile.

(Start with The Book of John).

  1. Hi Susan, I liked these words on smiling, and I guess the ones that make us smile are not the ones like on “funniest videos, but watching someone in the family doing an unexpected action that you didn’t expect and it was really funny. Like one time the kids were so used to going up to the pool that they would always have their swim suits under their shorts. One day Greg avout 11 ran into the house and announced he wasn’t going up to the pool any more! I asked why and he said I was so sure I had my bathing suit on and I didn’t as I took my shorts off. We all chuckled about that for awhile. It is good to remember the smiles. Thank you Susan. love Shirley
