Bible Cover Brings 2 Christians Together

Just before I left the hotel to go to church I stopped by the front desk.

The hotel receptionist saw my well worn Bible cover. “Oh, how I love to see a Bible that has been used!” she said.

Soon we were discussing our mutual love for The Lord.

The day before I had done my early morning Bible study by the pool and has read the book of Joel. I told her I wept as I read it.

The words described how the people had forgotten God and the consequences of turning their backs on Him.

Joel encourages the people to return to their original love for God…to put Him first in their lives again.

He was crying out for His people to repent.

He is making that same plea today to us!!

I believe God is sending that same message to America. REPENT!!

It is not too late, America. Do not lose your hope.

Pray that our country finds its way back to its Judea Christian roots.

As I discussed this topic with the hotel receptionist, she began to express some of her fears of where we as a country are headed.

I reminded her that as believers we know the rest of the story. We have nothing to fear. Christ will prevail!!

What a blessing it was to have that brief encounter with a fellow believer.

A well worn Bible connected 2 strangers in the lobby. Through the Blood of Christ we were no longer strangers. We are connected spiritually…Eternally.

What does your cover cry out?

Later that morning I was reminded at church by the pastor, that we are not to attend church to just gain spiritual knowledge, rather we are there to worship The Lord. AND then we are to share our faith with others as we go out into the world.

In other words, we are to live our faith daily not just for that one hour when we are attending church.

Blessings, Susan

Hi Susan, What a nice experience to have wth someone that has been waiting to talk to someone. It is funny how you can tell where to spread the gospels or even a few words. So glad for her to talk to you. I love my bible because it is worn, but I love reaching for my husband’s bible is so full of notes I wrote to him that I would put in his lunch bag or suitcase. He has so many with scripture and they are in the scripture page and underlined. . I hope you found a church close by. I am so glad Mary has you for a friend Susan. God bless your day. love, Shirley
