I was terrified.
I screamed my husband’s name, but it was incoherent.
From the other room it sounded like I was yawning, therefore no one came to my rescue.
I heard Wade leaving the house. He was out in the garage. I screamed his name again a little more clearly.
But he didn’t hear me. I began to shake and tremble.
Thankfully he came back inside of the house for his coffee thermos.
This time he heard my deep guttural scream for his help. “Wade! Wade!” I was screaming.
He ran into the bedroom. Shuddering in fear I continued to try to call his name.
Gently he called my name and stroke my shoulder, “Susan, wake up. You’re having a bad dream.”
A DREAM!!
I have no clue what I was dreaming. All I know is that wherever that dark scary place was I wanted my husband to rescue me.
Psalm 31:2
Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me.
In the light of day I pray that when I find myself in a dark and scary place again that I turned to The Lord along to my husband.
They are both my rock…one my Spiritual Rock and one my helpmate rock. I am truly blessed.
