Celebrating Life

This past weekend I was reminded of just how blessed I am. My husband threw me a surprise birthday party at a local restaurant.

As I walked into the room…well let me reword that…as I was shoved into the room…I was overwhelmed. Tears streamed down my face as I looked from person to person. Each face brought to mind such great memories. The love I felt in that room was palpable.

Friends from childhood to friends from recent days to everything in between. Family and friends from out of town and some from just around the corner.

What fun we had!

Today is my actual birthday and there was another surprise. My sister-in-law had asked people to write down a fond memory that they had of me. A box of Kleenex and an hour and a half later, I finished reading close to thirty notes from over 50+ people.

I laughed, I cried…the stories were both touching and funny. What was such a blessing was to see the common thread of my faith mentioned over and over again.

The memory notes reminded me of what people say about someone at a Wake or Funeral. How blessed I was to hear these things from this of heaven!

Many times we fail to let others know the impact they have had on our lives until it is too late.

I challenge you to write to one friend each week and tell them what they mean to you. Go through your email contact list.

Get started today.
