Trapped

Several months ago we discovered a mother cat and her babies in our backyard. The kittens were sick.

It was cold and wet outside and we knew they needed medical attention. It was apparent it would be easy to pick up the kittens, but how would get the mom to come out from under the bushes?

We put a can of food in an open cat carrier and placed in near the bush where they had set up household. The mother was hungry and it did not take long for her to step into the carrier.

Click.

Swiftly we closed the door.

Now the cat was trapped…and not very happy at all!!

Quickly we picked up the kittens and soon they were receiving needed medical care.

I was amazed how easy it was to capture the mother cat. She looked into the shiny cage, took a deep breath and enjoyed the savory smell, and completely unaware of the trap awaiting her, she freely walked into the cage.

Trapped

If we are not careful we too can become distracted by something that looks and smells good. It may be shiny and attractive, but before we know it we too are ambushed.

Be aware. Do not be fooled.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8 ESV)

Prayer…
Father God, help me to trust in you forever. For you, Lord, are my everlasting rock. Protect me. Do not allow me to be snared. Keep me safe. Amen

Blessings, Susan
