Run the Race

Since we are surrounded by so many examples [of faith], we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. Hebrews 12:1 (GWT)

I was eating dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Atlanta the other night when I overheard the group of people at the table next to me discussing various faiths. My heart swelled as I heard the lady sitting right next to me quoting Scripture.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17 (KJV)

If you’ve ever been to Cheesecake Factory you know that if you are seated at one of their bench tables you are literally side-by-side…thus I easily overheard their conversation.

This was obviously a business dinner. Considering the current mistreatment of Christians in America I was overjoyed to hear her share her faith.

Before I left we struck up a conversation. Being away from home it was wonderful meeting up with a fellow believer.

I may never see her again this side of heaven, but having met her in Atlanta was just what God ordered.

Are you bold? Do you stand up for what you believe?

In the United States we are just beginning to see our beliefs squashed and not accepted. Fellow believers across the world are being severely persecuted for their belief in our Lord. Every day we read of Christians being jailed, tortured and executed for being a follower of Christ.

How would you act if you lived in another country that punishes you for your faith in Christ? Dear Reader, if you are in such a country know that many of us pray for you daily. May God protect you.

As I sit here in the safety of my home I thank God that I still have the right to blog about Christ. Ten years from now will we still have this freedom? Will I still be so bold? I pray I will still be running the race no matter the consequences.

Friend, RUN THE RACE!!!

Blessings, Susan
