Today I had a doctor’s appointment for a minor check up. My physician’s regular nurse was not available.
As my vital signs were taken I learned the nurse caring for me was new to this practice and normally worked for my doctor’s partner. She shared with me that she’d recently become a widow.
Vital signs completed, meds reviewed. We moved on to the subject of ‘Me’.
But the entire time I kept feeling God’s gentle presence. I knew He had orchestrated this divine appointment.
My last blog entry was on the very topic of the loss of a spouse.
I could have kept silent; however, I knew God placed in in this moment for a purpose. Before she left the room I gave her my blog business card and suggested she read my Dearly beloved posting. I said I thought she’d find it encouraging.
With tears in her eyes she thanked me as she wrote the name of the post on the back of my card, said she’d look at and left to get the doctor.
Thank you, Lord, for the honor and privilege of being your vessel.
God wants us to encourage one another, listen for His voice, be aware of His gentle prodding and then be obedient…ACT.
