Dearly beloved

20130922-174948.jpgDearly beloved, we are gathered here today to unit _________ and _________ in Holy matrimony.

Marriage is an act of faith and a personal commitment, a union described as the best and most important relationship that can exist.

Whose marriage comes to mind? What names did you fill in the blanks?

Yours? The Lord’s?

Yes, The Lord’s.

Recently I met a woman, Deloris, who lost her husband 13 years ago. She shared with me the verse The Lord gave her many years ago.

“For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth.” Isaiah 54:5 (NLT)

A message from God that was for the people of Israel. He had created and substained them, provided them all their laws, and molded them into His people. He would be their protector, their Redeemer, husband, and Holy God.

This verse is as relevant today as it was when these words were written.

Enter into this Holy relationship. God wants to be the husband of the church…and you are part of that church. Make this your verse.

This truly is the most important relationship that can exist.

Blessings, Susan

  1. When I was going through a painful divorce, this was the verse the Lord gave me also. I clung to it and the rest of Isaiah 54, which has many words of comfort for a woman left alone, even though it was addressed to the nation of Israel. And He has been so faithful to see me through the hardship and bring me into a place of blessing.
