Be Who You Are

“Hide not your talents. They for use were made. What’s a sundial in the shade?” ~ Benjamin Franklin

Weaknesses.

What comes to mind when you see this word?

Do you instantly start thinking about your shortcomings and how you can improve in these areas?

Strengths?

Now what do you think of when you see this word?

Which do you believe you need to work and focus on, your weaknesses or strengths?

Your weakness so that you can be a “better” person?

OR

Your strengths so that you can be more of what God designed you to be ?

Our society tends to have us work on our weaknesses and challenges…in other words our opportunities for improvement.

But what if we focused on the God given talents and strengths we possess?

What if we pursued these exclusive gifts He has provided rather than spending time on things we are not?

No matter how hard I try I will never be an accountant. Oh I could go to school and I am capable of learning the fundamentals but this is not an area I excel.

Wouldn’t my life mean more if I focused on what I do well and to do it better?

What are your strengths? What gives you that adrenaline rush? What activities cause you to become so engrossed that time flies by?

Why not work on getting better at those things?

So, my very dear friends, don’t get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. James 1:16-17 (MSG)

Take those strengths and make them move you to being a better you.
