“Give us a our daily (Epiousios) bread.”
Epiousios is a unique Greek word, used only once in the New Testament.
Many believe Epiousios means future…thus Father, provide our future sustenance. What a beautiful picture.
God’s hand has provided me with all my needs…today and tomorrow.
I don’t know what God’s hand looks like, but I definitely know what it looks like when His hand is right in the middle of my life…when He is ensuring I have my daily bread.
I have seen the results of His hand guiding my life, so much so over the past several weeks and days. Now I don’t think He is involved more in my life now than before…what I believe is that I am just more acutely aware of His guidance.
Each day I eagerly await what He is up to in my life…some days He just knocks my socks off! And that is what happened a few days ago.
When I shared with my husband what was going on, he said, “That’s because of all that clean living.”
I knew what he meant…I am trying to live my life righteously. Oh, believe me I have a lot of room for improvement…much improvement. But I am humbled by what God is orchestrating in my life.
Yes, God, your God, dried up the Jordan’s waters for you until you had crossed, just as God, your God, did at the Red Sea, which had dried up before us until we had crossed. This was so that everybody on earth would recognize how strong God’s rescuing hand is and so that you would hold God in solemn reverence always. Joshua 4:24 (MSG)
What river or sea has God’s hand dried up for you?
What daily provision did He provide you today?
I rejoice in God’s plans.
Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”
Luke 18:27 (NIV)
I’m so excited about His provisions for my future!
