Unlimited text, mobile and data…
Recently I was discussing mobile phone services with a friend. An unlimited plan is what we both want and expect.
Back in the early ’90’s I purchased a used mobile bag phone that weighed at least 5 pounds. I thought it was great even though I had to carry it around in a huge black case. If I remember correctly the monthly plan had 100 minutes. Can you imagine? I use over 100 minutes in a day now!
I’ve become spoiled by my current unlimited plan and iPhone. I want complete access and not just talk and text…data.
My phone has become an extension of me. I blog from it, buy products, read the news, watch TV, check the weather, listen to music, read a book, edit photos, search the Bible, have a book or the Bible read to me, play a game, Facetime with family…it’s my camera, my alarm clock. I could go on and on.
270-300 Apps on my phone! Twenty years ago I never imagined the evolution of the mobile phone.
We can communicate with someone on the other side of the world in an instant. It’s amazing. For example my blog is followed by people across the world. Minutes after posting it is read by someone in Greece, India, Russia, America.
My ultimate goal is to show Christ to my readers through simple every day life experiences. To direct non-believers to Him and to assist followers toward a closer relationship with Christ.
The eleven disciples were instructed by Jesus to go out to the ends of the world…to all nations…baptizing, teaching, sharing His Word and making others followers of Christ.
I’m sure they wondered how could they reach the ends of earth. They were on a limited plan…limited by their means of communication. But they did not see it that way.
Traveling on dirt roads, sleeping outside, risking their lives while going about God’s business…spreading the Gospel.
What appeared as an insurmountable challenge 2,000+ years ago, is now possible at the literal touch of a button.
Christ knew that what appeared to mankind as a limited plan was ultimately unlimited.
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:16-20
There really is no excuse. Each of us can share Christ with others. Blog about Him. Tweet about Him. Share about your Lord daily to others…start with your family and friends. I challenge you to see how you can increase your circle of influence.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:5-9
