Crawl, dig, climb through the window

Today a window of opportunity opened up for someone I know.

At first she thought it was a door that was closing, maybe even slamming shut.

But no, it was definitely a window that she was peering through. Now she may have to crawl, dig, climb her way to the other side of that window. But the good news is, she saw it as a window and not a door getting ready to clobber her in the face.

Her response reminded me of the poem “Attitude” by Charles Swindoll, which concludes with “I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.”

How true!!!

In this situation she probably will not be able to change the inevitable…but she can control her response.

She can look for what God is availing her.

I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world. John 16:33 (MSG)

Are you facing a troubling time? Does it look like a door is about to crash down on you?

Step back. Could this actually be a window? The window you have been praying for, but just isn’t how you imagined it?

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10 (ESV)

Someone once told me life is like participating in a parade as a member of a marching band. You are marching along, playing your instrument. You can see the person in front of you, but you cannot really see past them or see what is around the corner. But God is way above you and He sees the entire parade. He will take care of you as you march along.

So, I say to my dear friend…you will be okay. God has special plans for you…just don’t miss them!

Blessings, Susan
