In no way do I want this blog to become political in nature. In fact many of my readers don’t even live in my country, the USA.

But I feel compelled to ask, are you following your local or national news? If not, know that God wants you to do so.

First He wants us to pray for our Leaders…

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live. (1 Timothy 2:1-3 MSG)

But also, the Bible states that when the country is in turmoil, that it takes wise and knowledgeable leaders to bring about stability.

When the country is in chaos, everybody has a plan to fix it— But it takes a leader of real understanding to straighten things out. (Proverbs 28:2 MSG)

If we as Christians bury our heads in the sand, how are we to know if our leaders are doing the right thing?

Many of us have News Apathy. Don’t Snooze when the news comes on…

No SNEWSing!!

I look across the world and see discord, unlawfulness, utter confusion, violence, economic and moral decline…

The Lord tells us “tune our ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.” Proverbs 2:2 (NLT)

Are you tuning your ears to the news in your community? In your country? Or do you have a total disregard for what is happening within your government?

Wake up!! It is imperative that the righteous are involved in their country…in a godly way.

Don’t expect your neighbor to pay attention for you!!

Years ago I worked with a Christian woman that did not believe in following the news. She thought it was not Scriptural. One day I asked her if she was prepared for the coming hurricane. She had no clue one was on its way and hitting us in the morning.

God does not want us to be oblivious to what is happening around us. And I am not just talking about the weather.

“Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.” Proverbs 4:5 (NLT)

OKAY…I’m stepped down from my soap box.

Blessings, Susan

Awesome message! I do the bookmarks for DBWC monthly Prayer Connection. Thanks so much for the Timothy verse; an excellent one to put on one of my bookmarks for the upcoming month.
