This morning I arranged for an earlier flight out – 9:00 AM instead of 5:00 PM – I needed to get home earlier.
5:30 AM: On the way to airport I just got a flat tire!! I’m now waiting for roadside assistance. They said it’d be about an hour from now before they could get here and then I can drive to local rental office at 8 to change out car. (Don’t want to make that drive on the little donut-sized spare tire!)
I called Delta to tell them I’d need to change my new 9 AM flight to later and guess what!! Delta booked it wrong – made it for 12:45 in error! Ha, Ha!! Guess they knew I didn’t really want to leave that early!!
When stuff like this happens how do you react?
At first, just for a moment I became a little riled up. But I didn’t let that remain. It’s okay. I’m at a safe place, help is on its way (now that may take awhile), but God’s in control. I always like to look at delays like this that perhaps God sees something up ahead and He’s preventing me from becoming a part of it…whatever “it” is. He’s keeping me out of harm.
He’s guarding my path.
For He guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
(Proverbs 2:8 NIV)
Update: Help is not on its way. They can’t find anyone whiling to come out at 6:30 AM to change a tire. Hmmm.
Still calm. Stay calm. It’s all good.
Hope I’m able to say that all day! LOL
7:00 AM – someone will be here by 8 AM.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that today’s Bible verse on my phone app is:
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.(2 Thessalonians 3:3 NIV)
