I was just reading on my phone some Scriptures trying to figure out what to write for my next blog and I came across this Scripture.
Reliable friends who do what they say are like cool drinks in sweltering heat—refreshing! (Proverbs 25:13 MSG)
Oh, how true !!
I have some wonderful Christian friends…I truly love my dear friends. The ladies in my Bible study are a delight.
And then to still be best friends with my childhood BFF…it just can’t get any better!
However, recently I realized I have surrounded myself with mainly Christian women and that I have very few non-Christian friends.
Shouldn’t I stretch my wings? How are others going to come to Christ if Christians stay in their own comfortable world?
I need to step out of my cozy surroundings
So I’ve joined 2 book clubs and a photography club.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV)
How can I follow Jesus’s Great Commission if I stay in my confined Christian box?
I can’t! Period.
So I’m going to meet other people…be myself…and let them see Jesus in me. Spread my wings.
I challenge you to soar and share God’s love. Remember you may be the only Bible others may read.
Blessings, Susan
Such an inspiration! Thanks, Susan

Thank you for your encouraging words. The photo was taken today while visiting our son and his family in Stuart.

Susan, we met at the book club Monday night and I, too, am trying to “spread my wings.” Moving to Florida recently meant leaving part of my family, a boyfriend and life time friends. Sometimes I just feel forgotten at this point. Your sparkling face renewed my courage the other night. Thank you for that. I look forward to reading your website. Thank you for the hard work you do. I feel lucky to have met you and will see you Monday night to discuss The Red Tent. Have a nice night. Lynne Quagliata
