Knowing God

Friends of my husband went to the Keys to fish for Tarpon. Day after day they watched fellow fisherman catch Tarpon, yet they caught none. They used the same bait, fished the same area, and seemed to be doing exactly what the other anglers were doing.

After several days of no fish, they asked one of the locals what could be the problem.

They were using a clear fishing line and the locals were using green. Who would have thought the color of the line would prevent them from catching tarpon?

Many people think they will receive the gift of eternal life through their good deeds. Just like the fishing line, it seems the right way, but it is not.

The Bible tells us, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

How do we receive this grace?

We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God’s forgiveness. This forgiveness is available to all; however we must turn from our sinful ways toward Christ. Jesus said, “But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

You can have God’s forgiveness, heaven and eternal life, and Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. Romans 10:9 tells us, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Understanding this, do you want to accept Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior?

If yes, please pray this simple prayer.

“Lord Jesus, I want you to come in and take over my life. I am a sinner. I trust you now, not my good works, but you alone. I believe you died for my sins, according to the Scriptures, that you were buried, and that you arose again on the third day. Help me to turn from my sins and to turn toward you. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, Amen.”

If you just prayed this prayer for the first ! me, I urge to share this with another believer. Start praying and talking to your Father daily. He loves you and is waiting with open arms for you. The Angels in heaven are rejoicing over your decision and so am I!

Blessings, Susan
