Having been to the Endodontist yesterday I can tell you that is a myth. What one feels before the root canal is pain and stress! The actual root canal was a piece of cake. It was the weekend that was stressful with a cracked tooth.
Are you experiencing stress? What is causing your stress? Is the anticipation of the Christmas holiday?
Many blogs this week discuss how can we reduce these stresses…there must be a reason for that…so here is one more list of suggestions on how we can REDUCE the stresses associated with Christmas.
R – Relax – use relaxation techniques…deep breath, take a walk, help wash the dishes
E – Evaluate your expectations…are they realistic?
D – Decide that others will not pull your strings and you won’t pull theirs…avoid known triggers such as discussing politics or any other touchy subject
U – Use your camera to capture the moments…focus on the moments and not on conflicts
C – Change is expected…traditions will change…embrace the new family customs
E – Enjoy an activity…play a game with the family
And most of all remember what the meaning of the holiday is all about…the birth of Christ. So lean on Him this holiday season…I know I am.
Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
“Are you tired? Worn out? … Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
